Japanese (Coturnix) Quail Hatching Eggs
Our Japanese Quail hatching eggs are available in quantities of 12, 24 or 36 and are collected from our established breeding groups of Japanese/Coturnix quail.
Our breeding groups include both Japanese and Italian colour varieties, producing chicks in a mixture of colours and markings.
Japanese quail, also widely known as Coturnix quail, are popular productive quail kept for both their eggs and their compact size. They mature quickly, with hens capable of beginning to lay from around 8 weeks of age.
We hatch regularly throughout the year to monitor fertility, and only offer hatching eggs from proven breeding groups.
All hatching eggs are carefully selected before packing. Eggs sent by post are securely packed in purpose-made polystyrene egg boxes and then further boxed to provide additional protection during transit, helping them arrive in the best possible condition.
Postage
Hatching eggs are posted Monday to Thursday only. We do not post eggs on Fridays, as this avoids them being held within the Royal Mail network over the weekend.
UK postage and packaging is Β£5.95 and is added at checkout. Combined postage is also available at checkout.
Collection is also available directly from The Hatch Shed, Chalkney Mill, White Colne, Colchester CO6 2PR.
Please note: While we take great care in selecting and packaging our hatching eggs, we cannot guarantee the fertility or hatch rate of eggs once posted, as handling during transit and incubation conditions are outside our control. Fertility should be assessed by candling during incubation.
